In Episode 39 of Folarin's podcast 'Go With the Flo’, I had the chance to share my journey from being an overlooked outsider artist to carving my niche in the very competitive art world.Participating in the Harlem Fine Arts Show this year for Black History Month was a transformative experience for me and my studio, 'Younity Studios.' Surrounded by esteemed artists like Luca Goly, Yuzly Mathurin, Jus10 Ellis, DntWatchTV, Thomas E. Lockhart III, Bones The Machine, Robert L. Newman, I felt a sense of camaraderie and recognition that has propelled my career forward.
Collaborating with producers Machine Gun Funk and Ill Wayno, we refined Jungle’s unique sound. Many late nights we were serenaded by Jungle’s Melodies and rhythms. The guidance and creativity of his wife, Bianca (aka the sharp-shooting BB Gun) has been invaluable, motivating us to push our creative boundaries.
I've known Johnny for some time now, and our relationship goes beyond mere acquaintance—there's a genuine bond and mutual respect rooted in our shared values. Johnny’s dedication to his vision and the spirit he brings to his work have always resonated with me, and being in attendance of his showcase was an honor.
The closing exhibition at Basin Gallery on August 15th was an extraordinary milestone for me as an emerging artist. Being showcased alongside esteemed artists Cey Adams and Craig Anthony Miller (CAM) was a profound experience. The reception from the audience was overwhelmingly supportive, and I felt a deep sense of connection with the new viewers who embraced my work wholeheartedly.
Being on Luckytime Explosion at Solas Studio with Brandon Wisecarver and Morgan Jesse Lapin was a total game-changer for me, ya know? It was a legit defining moment in my career, being able to chat about my journey, my art, and what keeps me inspired.
Last month, fellow Morgan Jesse Lapin, Daze, Ralphy, and I set up shop for a pop-up in Brooklyn, kickstarting the first "May•Hem" event. It's a grind, man, not just about lookin' cool, but about the light we bring into this world.
Nahhhh I Had the MOST amazing experience at the Landmark Art Gallery checking out Luca Goly accompanied by Mia showcasing his talent! It was truly invigorating to feel slightly overwhelmed by the presence of other notable artists like Reid Stowe & Wife Maxine Hoover, DIG, and Miriam Portilla. Their energies motivated and inspired me in ways I didn't expect. Witnessing art from diverse corners of the globe was a surreal experience - especially the authentic connection between Miriam from Mexico and Josh Zweig from the Bust Gallery, as well as DIG's impeccable sense of style both on the canvas and in person.

At the C.C.O.N. research facility, a skilled developer dreams of creating a better world, but struggles to advance in the management ladder. In his pursuit to prevent the apocalypse, the developer, Roxx, takes a grave risk and disengages the mechanism, thrusting himself into the enigmatic alternate dimension. His brother's fate still unknown, Adom embarks on a journey to unravel the secrets of this new realm, where he struggles to find answers to many questions, notably, who is Natas? What happened to his loved ones, and where does he fit in this new world? Although his memories remain scanty, Adom is determined to uncover the truth, wherever it may lead him.
Woodside Avenue Open Street in Queens will host a Chinese calligraphy workshop, henna and arts and crafts by Save the People, classical guitar activations, fitness classes, Afro-Caribbean Dance workshops, painting sessions, tai-chi sessions, and performances by live DJs, Afro Jazz bands, Indian Dance Groups, and Colombian bands.

Reuniting with Old Art Crew in the Big Apple
Ah, New York! The Empire State! What a night it was, stepping back into the art world and reuniting with the OG crew at Ian Sullivan's solo exhibition, "The Kids Alright," in Brooklyn Navy Yard. I mean, talk about a blast from the past - Ian and I used to tear it up in Soho back in '17 (YOU REMEMBER THE FAITH CONNEXION DAYS!)
Walking into that exhibit, the vibes were all love, baby. The place was buzzing with creativity and inspiration, just like the good ol' days. And let me tell you about Eshama, that wild and magnetic photographer with his quirky aura - always the been a beacon of light to me! Prolly one of the FEW people to really SEE me, feel me?
Major shouts to Tyler Jordan and the Art Department for putting this shindig together. And let's not forget Scrapyard NYC and Mezcal for keeping the drinks flowing and the good times rolling. It was a night to remember, back in the mix with the art fam, celebrating Ian's talent and soaking in the electric energy of NYC. Can't wait to see what the future holds for US ALL!

In a joyful reunion, I visited Scooter La Forge’s Tee-Hee-Hee show, filled with vibrant art on fashion apparel. Surprises awaited me, from reconnecting with Scooter to encountering Jane Friedman, co-founder of Howl! Happening. Immersed in the kaleidoscope of colors and whimsical designs, I left with cherished memories and a reminder of the power of friendship and creativity.
