Doja Cat Wears Sunflower costume from the early 2000s video game ‘Conker’s: Bad Fur Day’ Styled By Brett Alan Nelson

Working alongside Chris Habana, one of the greats in high-profile costume & jewelry design, has been nothing short of an exhilarating ride. Just recently, I found myself on call again for another Doja Cat project. With only three days to spare, the pressure was on. Chris was looking for the proper assistance and had to think on hist feet. The twist? He needed an airbrush artist familiar with costume design, and FAST.

I hustled hard, pulling together a whole kitchen’s worth of supplies and brought the entire operation to Chris’s studio. It was an all-hands-on-deck situation, and everyone needed to bring their A-game. And man, that space is a vibrant workshop; As i painted, I watched everyone cranking out designs and details that perfectly matched Doja’s unique style. The energy was electric, and I was fully in the zone, channeling my creativity and all the skills I've picked up from throughout my years with Chris and others .

This marks my third time collaborating on a Doja project with Chris, and each experience has been a game-changer. His mentorship has not only sharpened my technical abilities but also inspired me to push boundaries and explore my own artistic vision. He’s shown me the ropes and taught me to express my style in ways I never imagined before. Now, I’m ready to step into the spotlight with my own costume design projects.

So, get ready—because I’m coming through with my unique take on fashion, and I can’t WAIT to show the world what I’ve been working on. Who’s next? Stay tuned!
